This post is part of our “10 Questions” series, where we help you get to know our amazing staff a little better and find out they’re (fairly) normal people.
1. What do you do here at River City Ford?
I am the Social Media Manager. Basically everything you see on social (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), videos, pictures, all that stuff, I’m usually the guy that orchestrates all that.
2. If you had $1 million, what would be the first thing you did with it?
I’d pay off all my dept first, put half of that money away, and take what’s left of the other half and go to Vegas. I wouldn’t spend it all in Vegas. I went to Vegas with a couple thousand before and had a blast, I can’t even imagine how much fun I would have with like, $50,000.
3. What’s your biggest pet peeve?
When people snap their fingers at me. I had a boss that would give out orders and snap his fingers, and I had to quit because I couldn’t handle it anymore. It’s just rude.
4. What is the most extreme thing you’ve ever done?
Yeah, like X-TREME to the max!
I don’t know, I got kicked in the jibs by a horse once (jibs is hockey slang for teeth) when I was a kid, I think that’s pretty extreme. I’m not big into skydiving and that sort of stuff. I like to keep my feet firmly planted on the ground.
5. What is your favourite potato chip flavour?
I’m very big on junk food you can only get in Canada, so either Lays Ketchup or Ruffles All-Dressed. Old Dutch Jalapeno and Cheddar comes in a close second.
6. If you could walk around with a theme song in the background, what would it be?
Oh man, that’s funny. Umm…that’s tough. Probably Uptown Funk. I feel that that song would make almost everything more exciting. Walking down the street, going for groceries, you know, having the swagger. Up-town funk you up, uptown funk you up. I think that would be pretty funny.
7. How often do you look at your phone everyday?
Way to much. Honestly just way too much. We had a meeting at work and they asked, “What do you want to do differently in the next month?” and I said use my phone at home less. Working on social media you have to always monitor it, but instead of mindlessly scrolling Twitter for 30 minutes I could cook a nice dinner or something.
Facebook analytics are very serious stuff.
8. If you could be a cartoon character, who would you be?
Probably Goofy. But not Goofy from the old Mickey cartoons, but Goofy from The Goof Troop. He’s a solid dude and dad in Goof Troop and almost a complete idiot in the Mickey cartoons. Or Goof Junior, whatever the kid’s name is in the show.
If you think there’s a better cartoon then Goof Troop, you’re wrong.
9. Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Definitely a morning person. I used to host a morning radio show when I was in college. I’d be up by 4:30 and at school by 5:15 and I loved every second of it. But obviously being young and crazy, I’m a night owl on the weekends.
10. What’s your favourite part about working at River City Ford?
Everyone says it, but it’s so obvious. The people that work here. Whenever you need something from someone, they’re more then happy to help you out. Just the way everyone here treats our customers. The car dealer industry gets a really bad rep, and a lot of companies say customer service is their priority. But to be here and see first hand how hard everyone works to make a customer happy, it really is rewarding.
